What does literature teach?
>How to judge any work of art.
But today I indeed felt that what it teaches, to a great degree is to judge the things in life, how they are seen and considered. Subsequently how they ought to be taken into account!
Mainly it gives an outlet to develop "art of life". I mainly accept and have believed my thought that when it comes to collate ''Oh My God'' and ''PK'', Oh My God seems undoubtedly realistic or can say reasonable version portraying an atheist but Pk aims to target people's blindness to drawbacks portraying an alien in a unique way!
Religion consists of three ways: First is when you disregard it being atheist, it creates obstacle. Second is when you adhere it or absorb it, it makes you lose your discernment. Third is when it is shown to be religious in real sense by satirising it to give value to remove its pretense and to show exactly what its real meaning, it turns out to be a 'religious controversy". The movie itself shows that religion must not show controversy, contradictions, discrimination or standards but it must show humanity and harmony! But astonishing and smirking thing is that the people who support controversy haven't even bothered to watch the movie and without watching they put their arguments and claiming they have come after listening some worth questions raised by some hindu religious people. Here it very firmly connects this anecdote with the moral aspect of the movie PK. Religion is something that is conditioned in our mind or it conditions us chiefly but the fact is "we don't know it'', "we don't know what religion is''! The people who support controversy have perhaps never understood religion like ( they haven't seen movie, they might never have understood religion or bothered to see it). What religion teaches is to listen to everyone and consider it in collage with framework. Film just not only questions religion but it questions "this is this or that is that'' and wants to believe "that is not that only'' but ''that can be this also". What he goes on becoming or encountering through out the period of time that he spends on different planet is a process one must go through as religion cannot be accepted at once or all of a sudden without identifying it but it takes time, it explains, gives answers, asks, feels, experiences, argues, hates, loves, cares and that is what PK is doing on different planet or what he does is no less than "RELIGION''!
If an alien coming from different planet absorbs some faults and goodness of religion and its people then being inhabitants why don't we? Perhaps portrayal of this alien and qualities of his planet which have no language but just expression, no knowledge of deception as we watch him staring at the guy who steals his remote control and can't even judge what he is doing with him is only satire on people of "OUR GOLA'' who have been facilitated with all things on planet through which they can learn and discern everything but they close their eyes. The truth is very bitter when our people try to show faults we never care even to bother but when an outsider shows us our own faults, we can't even digest it.
PK- An immigrant of inhabitants or
An inhabitant of immigrants?
who teaches us our own values, makes us believe in or makes us be excluded from some too!
