Does the media make or mar the society?

It is a worth asking question! What we think, what we talk, what we learn and the way we behave is a gift of  "so called media''. People are used to reading newspapers. They are used to current updates which are shown by Television. Internet has been improving for years. It goes on progressing. The Times of India is a newspaper but it is a source for people on internet also who daily work all the day on internet, can take benefit of it. Facebook, Gmail, Twitter have made people's life easy. Indian Times is another page or site on internet through which people can get acquainted with recent happenings. When the point of media's advantages or positive impacts comes, these sources can be taken into consideration. Because it makes one's life easy to be in touch with affairs of surroundings.

If we talk about Television, there are too many things to be discussed! There are many shows which are worth watching. Reality shows, talent hunt shows, Geography, News Programs. Reality shows like Indian Idol,   Hero Honda sa re ga ma pa, India's got talent, KBC, and many others. People really get inspiration from the participants and how they have fulfilled their dreams. They leave positive impacts on audience's mind. Even the main thing which plays vital role is current trend or transformation of specific matter and how the things are increasing, what is its result , how people like it, why people like it, what is the process. Media reveals participants' struggle and hard work with us. It becomes so exceptional! Some informations are prioritized to educate people or to inform them. Its aim is to spread awareness among people. Whatever happens in society or in our country is shown by media. Say for example Rape cases, domestic violence, gender discrimination, education, social reforms, economy or political affairs. Target audience can be aware of the things. Say for Example when Damini Gang Rape case was made visible, people started following other people for protest and reform. Media creates " unity ". It assembles everything.

During that period of time people had been passing comments: "If she had not been there with her male friend at night , she would not have been raped''. This statement creates conflict and makes people of India feel ashamed of their fellow human beings; the way they think! After some time and after this statement there was a kind of revolutionary atmosphere in Delhi and many question were being asked about India's " So called" culture and great  people's thinking : We are cultured people, sophisticated people and we belong to a cultured society. That time was of self exploration  and self questioning in which people had to think of their conditioning of mind. There came some positive responses and transformations just because of Media and its keen interest in portraying an displaying facts. This is one example of benefit of Media and the way it worked. But Media has its cruel side. If it makes a society good then it also creates wrong picture of society, person, political party, art, artist, reformer! During that gang rape case fake images of that girl were shown and personal identity was revealed and that was the reason people came to know about that girl's life and her male friend. People started commenting. Above statement which has been written in quotation marks was the outcome of media's cruelty because it was the media who not only revealed her male friend but also her personal  life. The things which don't need to be displayed or shown they are shown by media. This gang rape case is one of the recent examples which shows media's positive as well as cruel side. In negative aspects of media not only internet is responsible but the way shows on television are shown creates strong psychological and eccentric impact on people's mind. Crime Petrol, Khatron ke Khiladi, Big Boss, Roadies are the shows which don't reform anything , neither they give moral messages or entertainment. Sometimes it entertains but many a times it affects our mind deeply which creates fear and pessimism. There are many examples through which we can prove that Media has two sides but because of " justice '' to each subject and other " to be completed " tasks I would conclude here. I would like to put a quotation- written by me. It supports the statement: Media mars the society. Life is not meant to be taught but it is meant to be learnt and to be explored. Relying on eyes is nothing but it's an illusion!

This is what media , sometimes does with us and it plays " blind man's buff '' with us. By showing beauty, it just attracts but at the same time it also hides a truth in it!
