The topic has always been hard to deal and ambiguous as well. Still, we can't find our education system '' up to the mark''. Neither primitive nor present. Unknowingly, the man has taken all necessary issues in his saying. It deals with education, politics, cultural matters, corruption, social science, beliefs of people and history. Even I can say literature too.Literature is a kind of education but it has its own space and value. Sam Pitroda seems to be claiming, questioning or satirizing very effortlessly.
I'm of the opinion that Sam Pitroda is not trying to make difference between primitive education or present education but he is claiming to the condition which has still been the same. No transformations at all! He is expressing his desire to examine or to explore the entire education system. If it is examined then it will be stepping ahead to change the world.
By his saying, "at its primitive stage'', he doesn't seem to be differentiating between '' the two time'' or the course of time but it can be found as it is with no change. There had been problems; and they have still survived. Neither he considers primitive's benefits, nor he claims its evils. The system indicates its purpose for hundred years but it will not work because youth's needs are important. Indeed, they have been ignored. If I give practical examples from our surroundings there are too many instances. In spite of spending seven years in study after graduation to be professional , people have no jobs. They are not being given deserved salary. People can't even think of government jobs. Corruption of self- finance colleges or companies is increasing. Many things can be listed. We are aware of it.
Almost all the degrees have lost their charm.
Engineering: Students are given very good result. It starts with 7.5 or 8.5 but what about practical knowledge?
M.B.A: None of them can manage or can make others understand by their management. Only a few have that knowledge. Reading of only three or four weeks and result will be first class. However it depends on student but none of them can complete syllabus ( the things which ought to be learnt and necessary) within a short time. They have not the guts to even talk sense when they are managing the things.
B.C.A: Many of my friends have done it. They have got first class. I have proofs of their mark sheets but they don't seem as intelligent as their marks instead they make us feel disgusting with their degrees. They can't make correct use of computer or programming. But only a few are there who are indeed worth appreciable and salute to them.
Medical:The only necessity of 90 %. Person is given admission. It is necessary and I totally agree. The profession needs intelligence rather accuracy, perfection and faultlessness. After 12th, students pay fees. It starts with one lack and it ends with......I don't know. Graduation of five years and then master degree of two years and then struggle of whole life.
Arts: Nobody will even think of this profession which is too hard yes it is. I have seen, experienced , and felt. Before writing anything the writer thinks of his stuff, many times about its importance ;whether they will be acceptable or not. Whether they are relevant or not. Whether they are showing truth or meaning or not. How tough the duty of teacher is! Noblest profession of all. If the teacher doesn't teach, other professions will never exist. Just think of this world without teacher. Teacher is teacher. No one can take place of the teacher despite technology or digital world because computer has been made by human.
B.ed: Teacher training course. It should be given respect but it is not being even liked to do nowadays. Why? Because of education system. Students are given good percentage but the way they teach is not worth rather not acceptable. We feel ashamed and astonished having examined them. Only a few are good.
What is the real need of youth? It will never be examined. Never will it be explored. Never will it be given importance! There is a lack of management and coherence in education system. Education system increases level . It includes technology but it is not enough . One thing should be understood. If the person has studied well , knows how to put those things into practice with creativity should be given opportunity to use it to change the world with positivity and for welfare or benefits. But here corruption will not let him step ahead. This is it.
An artist can only understand how much his art matters to him. To have art is easy thing because it is given sometimes by god but some times we have to realize and get that insight to enrich or to polish it. It is so hard. To animate it or to use it in apt terms is difficult. Parents only find engineers, doctors, teachers in their children but they don't find a painter, a singer, a writer in their children. If there is necessity of doctors and engineers then there is also necessity of singers and painters. We need all the things in our lives. Life is made up of many varieties . We have considered and categorized the things. We believe in distinctions and casteism . We have brought this distinction and casteism in education too. We have brought this contrasts in professions too. We have given numbers to professions. (1) science (2) commerce (3) arts.
Why don't we understand that every profession has its own space and value ? This world needs all the three professions . It will break down if one of the three loses its charm or presence. The education system needs to understand this. Sam Pitroda seems to be expressing his devotion to Gandhiji. He categorizes him not as person but as a "way of life". " To me, you could be drinking scotch, wear heels and still be a Gandhian. You don't need to take Gandhi in totality. All we need to do is practice his ways." I agree with his saying but my another perspective is no one can adopt or accept person and his morals because every human being has his own moral values and thoughts. One can get inspiration but his own ideas will always effect . Devotion to simplicity is not worth in one's life unless he adopts simplicity in form of '' virtues'' or '' true beliefs''. Your modern life style is acceptable but not with abomination for lower people or corruption. Your simplicity, KHADI PAHERVESH OR WHITE DRESS and OILY HAIR is not acceptable if you only show off to collect admirations. This is what perhaps he wants to convey by mentioning his views about Gandhiji.
Politicians have turned corrupted because at some extent we are corrupted too and we gave them chance to corrupt.
