Article 15

Article 15
And I would start here with a real anecdote in my life...
And I sometimes get misunderstood by my surname “Vora”, appearance, dialect, articulation, vernacular and what not! Students and new ones keep assuming their way and I humorously take conversation ahead, “whatever you consider, it is your assumption and reality can also be different. It is my honour as I am assumed differently and according to you all, there isn’t a common assumption coming from every one of you. India is known for its unity in diversity”.
Conversation be like:
‘Ma’am, do you believe in casteism, no no, Caste Specification?
 I: Yes
 What? Really, ma’am?
I: 'If you will ask me specification on my caste, its historical heredity, ancient roots, values or if I want to share something significant about us and you consider it either boasting or favouring, yes I do believe in it’. BUT
‘If you believe in sharing something which is good, or worth practising and somebody hears you, accepts you, likes you, discerns you for that, then it is called “acknowledgement or recognition” but most important is when you are distant from intolerance’.
‘Look, nothing is upper or low, superior or inferior. Every caste and community has something very significant in itself. If you are indulgent truly, accepting goodness of others; abandoning their evility if they have any, you are nonbeliever of casteism. Making own community ‘significant’ for something can be specification but it is not favouring all the time and accepting others as equal as yourself is like being distant from casteism too'.

Article 15 can be judged from psycho-sociological barriers where opinions, mentality, status consciousness make a major difference. Something indeedly originating from our mental predicaments which are basically created by an individual’s mind as this film revolves around societal structure and hierarchy.

When communal riots happen, subjects like caste and creed are discussed. On women’s day their empowerment and gender discrimination are also discussed. When worshipping and religious practicing are discussed, talks about religious discrimination also take place. The same occurs with this film too. Along with castes, religions, genders people have divided human sensibilities.

Film again comes with the same message to abolish so called caste system but reality is shown such a way that no social humanistic theory can transform such deep rooted system consisted of authoritative accomplices. In era of management, students are taught that any organization consists of hierarchy as well as inward -outward networks under external channels. This film shows that rather than external channels, network that is made up of internal accomplices is worsening the system at major level. This film does not reference caste differences but also power struggles and domination of any overlying authority on lower, be it government or any upper castes.

Where we are eye-witnessing our youth becoming free from such differences and accepting multiculturalism with the teachings of coping up with cross cultural or psycho sociological barriers in corporates, they are also heading towards assimilation of different population, race and places. On contrary such film is like an inferno to multiculturalism.
Deeply rooted system is worst because our society predefines roles of every one and reformation of society is badly needed. Character of an officer, an outsider who would have assumed India non-discriminatory has to transform his pre-assumed image in the film. It does complete justice with his portrayal and without any exaggeration and presentation of commercial adorned personality kinda protagonist, he does not seem to overlook any single thing but connecting random occurrences together in the film.

If lower classes are dirty why didn’t upper class morons feel that slovenly dirt while raping the lower girls? It didn’t make them hesitant even slightly for showing their perversion. Film clearly depicts the truth of getting ego satisfaction by upper classes and lower classes are mere instruments in form of humans to show reverence by bowing down to class authorities. Beyond any government system and constitution what wins here is less upward channels and more downward networking.

Film also show good characters like Gaura and Nishad who seem to be fighting within corrupted system and against that system. Antagonists such as Anshu and Bhramadatt also emerge excellently in film. Their characters show exact political loopholes. Even dialogues, intrapersonal conversation of characters become so significant in film. Conversation between officer and his friend isn’t served as interludes but exactly in between just because it is so relevant with the dialogues of other ongoing characters.
“Sab barabar ho jayenge to raja kon banega?
“Par raja kyun banana hai?”
